Which video formats can I upload?
MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and other common formats, up to 60 minutes per file. Because only the audio is uploaded, a large video does not have to travel over your connection.
Can I get subtitles from a video?
Yes. Download an SRT or VTT file with timestamps for YouTube or your video editor. This tool creates subtitle files only: it does not burn captions into the video.
Which languages does it support?
The Whisper speech recognition model detects the spoken language automatically and covers nearly 100 languages. You can also pick one of 19 common languages yourself. The transcript stays in the spoken language: it is not translated.
What happens to my video?
The video file stays on your device. Only an audio copy is uploaded, to our storage and to our speech recognition provider, to create the transcript. Your transcripts appear only in your account.
